The most important thing to do when a fire breaks out in your home is to GET OUT!

Always alert everyone on our way out, but don't try to take personal possessions or pets, You and your family come first,

Do Not re-enter the building after leaving.

Here's what you can do:

  1. HAVE A WORKING SMOKE DETECTOR. The more the better.
  2. Practice exit drill with your family. Make a designated meeting place you can go to that is safe from the fire and everyone knows. Then call fire department fast!Have two ways to get out.
  3. Inspect your home for hazards and correct them, especially electrical hazards.
  4. Have your heating equipment checked and maintained on a regular schedule. Be especially careful in the placement and use of space heaters.
  5. Don't keep gasoline in or near your home. Never use it near heat or flame, it may explode and burn you.
  6. Check up on smokers, they may start fires.
